Moving Mountains® Cheesy Jalapeno Hot Dog

  • 4 Moving Mountains Hot Dogs
  • 80g sliced jalapenos
  • 250g tomatoes, chopped
  • Handful of fresh parsley or coriander
  • 4 hot dog rolls
  • For the vegan cheese sauce (enough for 6):
  • 200g light coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 35g vegan cheese (optional)



1. Start with making the cheese sauce. Add all the ingredients, except the cheese to a small sauce pan. Bring all up to a boil over a low heat, whisking occasionally. When the sauce starts thickening up, whisk rapidly getting rid of any lumps. Boil for a minute or two and whisk in the cheese at the very end (if using). Season the sauce with salt and set aside, until needed. You can transfer it into a squeeze bottle if you have one.

2. Simmer the hot dogs for 15 minutes and finish cooking on the grill, just for a minute, to get charred marks and smoky flavour.

3. Assemble the hot dogs with tomatoes, jalapenos, herbs and drizzle generously with the cheese sauce.
