With the Launch of New Plant-Based Beef Tender Strips, Carnivores Now Have No Excuse Not To Go Plant-Based This Veganuary & Beyond

Moving Mountains®, the pioneering British food tech company that launched the first plant-based ‘bleeding’ burger in the UK, is launching what Founder Simeon Van der Molen believes is “the meatiest plant-based product in the world”: Plant-Based Beef Tender Strips.

The Moving Mountains® Plant-based Beef Tender Strips (RRP £4.50 for a 250g bag) can be purchased nationwide at Sainsbury’s in the frozen aisle. They are 100 per cent plants, 0 per cent cow and can be cooked from frozen in just five minutes. The strips sizzle, smell and brown just like the real thing.

Moving Mountains® uses simple and natural ingredients and incredible scientific processes to create its plant-based beef strips. They have an incredible depth of flavour and texture, replicating animal meat in every way and delivering a plant-based product that tastes meatier than any other plant-based meat on the market. Now the most dedicated of carnivores will have no excuse not to go plant-based or flexitarian this Veganuary and beyond.

  • Pea protein provides high-quality protein and a great source of iron
  • Wheat and soy proteins give a fibrous texture akin to the bite and depth of beef steak strips
  • Vitamin B12, traditionally associated with red meat, has been added so that the Moving Mountains® Beef Tender Strips can genuinely compete with beef and provide more essential nutrients

Highly versatile and set to be a favourite with families and busy professionals, the Tender Strips can be enjoyed as a direct swap for beef and are ideal for creating cuisines from around the world. They are perfect in an Asian stir fry or curry, are delicious in a burrito, make a wonderful filling for a Greek Souvlaki wrap and, for those wanting something a bit closer to home, they shine as the star of a warming British stew.

The Beef Tender Strips have zero cholesterol and are high in protein with 27g of plant protein (per 100g of Beef Tender Strips), are 100% plant-based and free-from antibiotics, hormones and GMO ingredients.

The Beef Tender Strips join Moving Mountains’® pioneering line up of plant-based products, which include burgers, sausages, mince, meatballs, hot dogs and fish fingers. These products have been launched to support the brand in its massive goal of living in harmony on a sustainable planet.

Simeon Van der Molen, Founder of Moving Mountains® says: “At Moving Mountains® we’ve created the meatiest plant-based product in the world with our Beef Tender Strips. Released just in time for Veganuary, now even the most dedicated of carnivores have no excuse not to give a plant-based or flexitarian diet a try in the New Year.

“We have perfected the recipe with a team of scientists, chefs and technological innovations, and it is the closest replication to beef available on the market. The product provides a real solution to the environmental impact of the animal agriculture industry, without compromising on taste for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters.”

The future of eating well for health and for the planet, Moving Mountains’® plant-based meat requires less land, less water and produces less greenhouse emissions than animal meat. It looks, smells and tastes as indulgent as regular meat but is made entirely from plants.

By launching the Moving Mountains® plant-based Beef Tender Strips in the frozen aisle, the brand contributes to reducing the UK’s estimated 10 million tonnes of food waste.

Moving Mountains® Plant-Based Beef Tender Strips (RRP £4.50 for 250g) is available to UK consumers in Sainsbury’s stores nationwide. The plant-based Beef Tender Strips will be on promotion in Sainsburys in January for £3.50 per pack.
