Brits Can Enjoy Brand New Mince, Meatballs & Moving Mountains® Iconic Bleeding Burger To Cook At Home For First Time Ever


Moving Mountains®, the British food tech company that created the UK’s first plant-based ‘bleeding’ burger, has launched an exciting new collection of cook at home products on Ocado. The range features brand new products including Mince and Meatballs, and a UK retail first, the Moving Mountains® iconic Burger, which until now has only been available at restaurants.


During a period when Brits are spending more time than ever in the kitchen, Moving Mountains® is dedicated to providing compelling plant-based choices to the nation, with a more diverse product offering. The cook-at-home Ocado range features four products:


  • Moving Mountains® Mince (RRP £4.50) is a new and convenient freezer filler to create versatile and delicious homemade meals. Made with all-natural plant-based ingredients, such as oyster mushrooms, onion, coconut oil and pea protein, it is a delicious soy-free plant-based alternative and cooks in just ten minutes after defrosting, and provides the same meaty taste, texture and versatility as beef mince. Home cooks can use the mince in a multitude of ways, from shaping into burgers, koftes and meatballs to incorporating into hearty dishes, such as Chili, Spaghetti Bolognese or Cottage Pie.


  • The new Moving Mountains® Meatballs (RRP £4.50) are made from 100 per cent natural plant-based ingredients, including rice, oats, oyster mushrooms, coconut oil, pea protein and beetroot. The meatballs are perfectly seasoned with herbs and have an irresistibly juicy, meaty taste. Moving Mountains® Meatballs can be baked straight from frozen in just 20 minutes or pan-fried in just 10 minutes for the perfect addition to any dish, or on their own as a flavourful and succulent snack.


  • Moving Mountains® Bleeding Burger (RRP £4.50) is now finally available for home cooking. Seven million of the revolutionary patties were sold in the last year in restaurants alone. Institutions like Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood are among the 3000 outlets serving the burger nationwide. The burger is also distributor, Brakes Foodservice’s, best-selling burger, outselling all their beef and vegetarian offerings. 100 per cent plants and zero per cent cow, the Moving Mountains® Burger looks just like a regular patty.  When cooked in the pan or BBQ, it sizzles, smells and browns just like the real thing.  And just like the very best juicy burger, when perfectly cooked, the Moving Mountains® burger bleeds through the middle – with beetroot juice instead of animal blood.


  • Moving Mountains® Sausage Burger (RRP £4.50) is a trailblazing innovation. Delicately seasoned and made from a combination of oyster mushrooms, pea and wheat protein, the 4oz burger can be cooked in just 12 minutes from frozen in a frying pan. The plant-based Moving Mountains® Sausage Burger combines the look and texture of a traditional sausage patty with the taste of pork. It is ideal to enjoy at any time of day, whether at breakfast time in a muffin, for lunch in a burger bun or as part of a delicious roast dinner, alongside apple sauce and all the trimmings.


The Moving Mountains® range is 100 per cent plant-based, free of hormones, antibiotics and GMO ingredients. Each one tastes and smells just like the real thing. By using simple and natural ingredients and incredible scientific processes, the range replicates animal meat in taste, texture and satisfaction.


The future of eating well for health and for the planet, the Moving Mountains® frozen range generates less greenhouse gas emissions and requires less resources than animal meat to make, but still looks, smells and tastes as indulgent. Indeed, according to a 2020 Life Cycle Assessment to review the environmental impact of the Moving Mountains® ‘bleeding’ Burger, it uses 92% less greenhouse gas emissions and 70% less water when compared to the production of beef. The range also uses less packaging than chilled food products, with zero plastic and also contributes to reducing the UK’s estimated 10 million tonnes of food waste, with the extended frozen shelf life.
